King.com appoints Michael Bayston as international advertising sales director

Social games company King.com has announced the appointment of Michael Bayston as international advertising sales director after posting a ten-fold increase in its ad revenue for 2012.

Bayston will be based in London and is tasked with building a direct advertising and sponsorship business for King.com properties in EMEA, as well as assuming responsibility for integrated sponsorships across mobile, social and web platforms.

King.com is currently the second largest games developer on Facebook with hit titles including Bubble Witch Saga and Candy Crush Saga and has run campaigns for major brands such as T-Mobile, Samsung, Procter & Gamble, Macy’s and Nestle.

Mark Charkin, King.com’s executive vice president for business development and advertising, said: “Michael, with his deep brand relations, great track record and fantastic industry experience will be a great asset to the team as we continue to grow the business internationally.

“King.com’s growth in advertising revenue has scaled along with our explosive growth of players across the web, Facebook and mobile platforms. King.com now has over 40 million monthly unique players and has crafted brand solutions that are less intrusive than traditional formats and enhance player experience and engagement with our games.”

Bayston has previously worked for Spil Games, Viacom, Double Fusion and News international.
