French car manufacturer Citroën is inviting its Facebook fans to vote for a selection of consumer-created designs to customise its new DS3 model.
The designs were created for the brand by consumers all over the world via co-creation platform eYeka. Citroën has now shortlisted 12 designs from the 180 entries and put them up for discussion on its Facebook page, with the most voted for design to possibly move into production for the DS3 – to be released worldwide later this year.
Through its Facebook album “Your Citroën DS3 dreams?” the car manufacturer is asking its Facebook community to ‘Like’ their favourite design, with all designs based on the theme “French Luxury”.
Head of DS Line at Citroën, Philippe Claverol, commented: “By working with eYeka, we were looking to tap into the imagination of creatives around the world, to gather ideas and insights from people outside of our company, and to test the understanding of our plans and communications around the development of the DS3 model, and how they related to the idea of French luxury.”
eYeka CEO, Francois Petavy, added: “Citroën always had a reputation for innovation and, like all leading car manufacturers, is increasingly seeking creative marketing ideas from outside traditional sources. Our community is proud to have helped push the boundaries of automotive marketing with such a dynamic and creative brand.”
