Dishonored, a stealth adventure set in a steam-punk London style environment, has been named best game at the annual Bafta awards.
The title, developed by Bethesda, saw off competition from Playstation hit Journey, which scooped five awards in total.
Gabe Newell, chief executive of Valve, the developer behind the Half Life and Portal franchises and Steam community and marketplace - was honoured with an Academy Fellowship, Bafta's highest accolade.
Commenting on the win Newell said: "On behalf of everyone at Valve, and all of the gamers who have gone with us on this adventure over the last few years - thank you very much.”
A raft of personalities turned up to impart some star dust on the event; including Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, singer Conor Maynard and TV presenter Jonathan Ross.
