Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the final Chip Shop Awards ‘Ad of the Week’.
Today marks deadline day for this year’s awards and the final ‘Ad of the Week’ winner for 2013 comes from Jon Massey and Ryan Brown from Pixel8 Ltd. Created for the upcoming ‘Man of Steel’ Superman film the creative was submitted into the Best Use of Ambient Media category and uses the common lift as the hook of the ad.
The lift doors are wrapped with the image of a man’s suit and tie with hands on the lapels as if to open the suit jacket, as the lift doors open inside the lift is an ad for the film complete with the Superman logo, taking inspiration from the iconic moment when Clark Kent rips off his civilian clothes to reveal his superhero alter ego beneath.
Entries closed at midnight TONIGHT if you have a great idea there’s still time to submit it via the Chip Shop Awards site. Judges for this year’s awards include Mr Baglee founder Patrick Baglee, AMV BBDO’s Paul Burke, and BMB co-founder Bil Bungay.
With the Chip Shop Awards celebrating its 10th anniversary the awards promise to be bigger and better than ever before. Traditional categories such as Best Use of Bad Taste and Best Use of Shocking Copy still feature but this year also sees the introduction of the Crinkly Chips open to industry legends.
As the awards celebrate creativity and ideas without restriction, submissions don’t need to have run and you need not work with the client. If you fancy your chances as a Chip winner you don't need to be a Man of Steel you just need to make use of the next 11 hours and submit your ideas through the Chip Shop Awards site.
