Deal: Irish FA's Geoff Wilson with ASG's Colin Anderson OBE

The Irish FA has struck a deal with Belfast-based agency ASG to create a media campaign promoting health through sport and tackling poverty and social exclusion, it has been announced.

The three-year programme will use football to promote quality and battle social exclusion and poverty in deprived areas, as well as an educational health project encouraging communities to address problems around healthy eating, nutrition and exercise.

Irish FA head of marketing and communications, Geoff WIlson, said: "We are looking forward to working with ASG over the next there years to deliver a series of creative media campaigns to support the roll-out of a wide range of sporting interventions and to help address issues such as poverty, social inclusion, equality and health."

The initiative is being funded by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure as part of its Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport programme.
