C&C is to relocate the marketing and commercial team in London which handles brands such as Magners to its offices at Wellpark in Glasgow, resulting in some departures as the company centralises a number of teams in one city.
The Drum has learned that the marketing team of around 10 are to be relocated to Glasgow, with C&C explaining that the decision has been taken after it was given notice by its landlord for the offices in Leicester Square due to refurbishment.
“This meant that we had to consider a different location for our office-based employees," Paul Condron, marketing director of Tennent Caledonian told The Drum.
"Following significant investment in facilities at Wellpark and C&C Group's ongoing commitment to Scotland, the decision was made to move certain Magners GB functions to Glasgow - including the marketing team, commercial operations, finance and HR. This is a positive step towards bringing our major brands together under one roof. This move will benefit C&C business, our customers and consumers as well as being positive news for the Scottish marketing community."
He added that the Magners GB sales team would remain unaffected by the move.
It is understood that some members of staff have chosen to depart rather than relocate, although at time of writing it was not clear who. The Glasgow operation also handles, among others, Tennent's Lager and Blackthorn Cider.
