ABC circulation results for key Trinity Mirror regional titles will switch from six monthly to monthly starting from May, it was announced on Thursday.
The group said the move would bring results into line with its national titles and provide more robust data on its publications after a number of regional papers launched websites and mobile sites over recent months.
Earlier in the year, Trinity Mirror launched the National Advertising Sales Agency (NASa) and combined its national, regional and digital sales teams for the first time to simplify and centralise cross media advertising opportunities.
Mark Hollinshead, chief operating officer of Trinity Mirror, said: "In a multichannel environment our clients require robust and transparent audience data on all of our news brands – in print, online, mobile and e-editions – delivered in a consistent format and on a far more regular basis."
The first monthly results are expected on 7 June.
