The British Council has chosen Warrington-based Drupal developer Ixis to work on a massive web overhaul.
The organisation has decided to carry out a complete redevelopment of its 110 country websites, 150 project websites as well as its corporate homepage and landing pages. It currently receives 10m unique visits and 100m page views per quarter.
Ixis has worked with the British Council for more than five years, building sites and supporting its teaching and learning websites.
It was selected to carry out this project after partnering with business and technology service company Logical to implement a content management system, as well as manage the hosting and support for the council’s entire web infrastructure.
The web hosting contract is worth £1.2m over 4 years.
Peter Edwards, content management system manager for the British Council, said: "Like a number of public service organisations today, we acknowledged the vital role of digital in our growth plans, especially with budgets increasingly tightened."
